(Chapter 1) Sickness

"

The beginning of this little tale.

"
The sickness was spreading. He could see it in her eyes. Each day she grew worse. Her strength was waning. He tried desperately to help her. They went to every doctor in town seeking help. Unfortunately this was not a matter they could help in for it was not a sickness of the body but of the mind.
One day they sat side-by-side looking into the depths of a lake. He could see the ever growing madness on her face. It worried him. She had gone into one of these spells before but she never lost the soft gleam of light in her eyes. That gleam was now gone.
She looked at him with harsh, grey eyes. Her face a cold mask. No warmth to spark his hope. A deadly grace set into her gaze. She had turned into the very thing she had feared, a stone heart.
He watched her dying before him. He had to save her, he just had to. He would fight this sickness taking over the girl he loved. Though, he did not realize that his foe was the girl herself.
