Looking For Love and Found More

 

Poetry hasn’t came around lately

Not that I have cold feet

But the floor is a bit brisk

And I still will not tip toe around the subject

I’m going to walk right into it

Embracing every feeling

Like warm sand between my toes

And who knows

Maybe I will get my feet wet

If I keep walking toward the water on this beach

And learning from every lesson you teach

 

Randomly I repeat a well recited reason

For being with you

Wrapping three words around the subject of us

By saying I Love You

But its not enough

Will not suffice

I can’t build a strong enough foundation with that common device

Instead I will entice

You with actions

Of my attraction

And by attraction, I do not mean your stunning looks

But how we are drawn close to each other

Like the earth and the moon

To some it may seem too soon

But I feel like I’ve known you all my life

That’s why there will we now hesitation

No regret

When I make you my wife
