Why?

Why?

A Poem by Dinkleman
"

A free verse. Not my favorite work, but I thought I'd put it on here anyways.

"

The trees are dead and cold.

Winter has come.

Moonlight shining gray.

Like my heart.

My love was never enough.

I’ll just go.

Why won’t you let me into your broken heart.

And why would you give it to him.

I’ll waste away.

How can I forgive someone, but not myself.

Did you mean 'The trees ARE dead...?'

It's hard to let go and worse to feel unworthy of someone's love. Deeply profound.

I love the last line.
