Lake ArrowheadA Poem by Dusty MondyA track off of Alias Punch album#1, Alias Punch. It's about a lake in Northern Georgia that Jasper and I visited briefly.
Oh no, they've got me down again,
Damn them working-time blues, My forehead's so very dry, From all the sweat that I lose, And just to get a break, I've got to make up a lie, In the middle of this doldrum, I close my eyes, I find myself on Lake Arrowhead, Where, oh, my boss can't stick his head, All I see is blue water, bright green trees, And every other city is spitting out cheese, Let's take out the paddle-boat, Smoke a cigarette, Take a picture in your mind, Try not to forget, I just killed two copperheads, Says Uncle Dan, "And I swear that both of them snakes, Are the biggest in the land!" I find myself on Lake Arrowhead, Where, oh, my boss can't stick his head, All I see is blue water, bright green trees, And every other city is spitting out cheese, I find myself on Lake Arrowhead, Where for all I care, Florida could be dead, I don't even care I'm drinking s****y beer, Because my fingernails are anchored in this dirt for a year. © 2010 Dusty Mondy |
