Forgive and ForgetA Poem by Dustin ReichmuthMaybe I need to make my songs more simple, to appeal to everyone. Yeah. That's a good idea. But this isn't simple. No one is capable of thinking on their own anymore.
I saw the tear in the sky last night, and it chilled me to the bone.
And I felt the fear in your heart, are you losing your home? Is it your home or your mind, as we step to say goodbye But I don't know. I heard the thunder in the distance, and I broke my fall. And I snapped my neck just to reach it, but after all After all, we've seen, that what has come to be is so obscene You see, that eventually we'll all succumb, to disease. And pestilence it breeds, so serene. I felt the world start to crumble, and I started to cry. And I knew that one day I'd come back, stronger than time. And I know, that you're not quite ready to go, my dear. You'll see, that sometimes it's great to face your fears. After all, we've seen, that what is happening is so obscene You see, that in time eventually we all succumb, to disease. And pestilence it breeds, so silently. So I'll rise, and I'll take to the sky and the unknown. And I'll carry my legacy, it'll surely grow. They'll see, that eventually I won't succumb, to the disease. And pestilence, it breeds, and it's needy You see, that what I've done is so obscene. Forgive, and forget that my name ever bore any meaning. © 2011 Dustin Reichmuth |
