The Truth

The Truth

A Poem by Dustin Reichmuth
"

What an abstract concept

"
Take whatever you want, just leave.
I don't want you here anymore, please believe.

I started this war, and now I'll end it.
October seems so long ago.
I'm closing the door, and I'll leave it.
These are things you surely know
I, will, never be the type to be tied down.
I, can't, ever say that my feet won't touch the ground.

We've come so far just to let it all burn
So quickly all the tables have turned
I believe in a better life, for you, for me, and you
But I know, I know that a better life, has a price it's true.

I began the cleaning process, several year ago.
Forever we'll bring back the pain of what's unknown.
You'll surely see, the rabbit that led you to the hole
Was a plague to the world, and your mind, just pay the toll
And you, will believe in the meaning of a second chance.
So surely you'll accept this proposition of one last dance.

We've come so far just to let it all burn
So quickly all the tables have turned
I believe in a better life, for you, for me, and you
But I know, I know that a better life, has a price it's true.

We've come so far just to watch our life together burn.
Oh my god, how quickly the tides of battle have turned.
I see, there's a better life waiting for me and you.
But I know, that a better life, has a higher price, that's the truth.
