Now That You're HomeA Poem by Dustin ReichmuthIt's very fast paced, until the end. Gosh, there's a double meaning there, isn't there? Oops..
I'd just like to say a welcome back, a welcoming
Is needed for the memories, we've seeded in our bed of leaves I'm leaving, no not staying, contemplating, gesticulating Every single moment I am wasting. A curtain call, a call to arms we'll surely fall And as we crack and break, we shake and wait inside our head. But before we pack our bags and go, I hope you know, I hope you know. That now that you're home, I can finally breathe. Finally after all these years, I'm ready to finally see. Now that you're home, it's been too many years. And now that you're home, I'll get so far away from here. So I'll take a breath and realize, before we lose and surely die That it's not worth the wasted space and ache and lace you procreate. And I'll harp for your attention, don't need your condescension It's agonizing, tantalizing, hypnotizing the way your eyes are moving Constellations can't keep shooing, and I'm booing, it's your undoing. And then when I hit the wall, I'd surely fall, but after all You're standing in my very own world. Now that you're home, I can finally breathe. Finally after all these years, I'm ready to finally see. Now that you're home, it's been too many years. And now that you're home, I'll get so far away from here. So I'll let you think of us. As you step off of that bus. And I'll let you have a smoke. You'd pray, you'd choke. And I'm sure that you can see. About what my world came to be. And I'm sure that you will know. That since you're finally home, I'm finally gone. © 2011 Dustin Reichmuth |
