VolumesA Poem by Dustin ReichmuthLooking back, taking time to reflect, that's something that's necessary for all forms of addiction
Cigarette smoke fills the room.
My addiction's you, I'm addicted to.. Everything we've done until now. I'm feeling low, moving oh so slow. Empty glasses tell the stories Of the tear stained, paper goodbyes. So we'll drink and dance 'til morning. Until the love fades in our eyes. Losing what I considered to be, the world. Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls. This masquerade, is an old tirade. It mirrors what I'll hide from the world. Folded pages shine on truth. Shaped into, how I created you.. To become what I would love. But you know, enough, enough. Bright eyed notes, silhouette bodies. Crawl to wear we'll remember most. All the memories, fondest hobbies. Pray to our god damn, gracious host. Losing what I considered to be, the world. Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls. This masquerade, is an old tirade. It mirrors what I'll hide from the world. All the horrors of this place, your mind, cannot erase. To my left lies heaven, while the right holds hell. I'm afraid to ever leave this place, a secret, I tell. So speak your riddle and send me on my way, fulfilled or ashamed. © 2011 Dustin Reichmuth |
