A Poem by Dusky

The stars dance – they spin and glide and fly,

And I lie,

Beneath the stage of endless worlds,

Hoping they won’t stop dreaming for me.

The birds soar – oh how they steeply dive,

And rise,

And never know longing for open space,

Free to go anywhere, why, who and how.

To dream and never be free,

Like the birds we see,

Reaching out for snatches of something else,

For something we may once have felt.

To wing to the end of the world,

Where waters cascade down into endless black,

And douse the bright and shining suns,

Where the air we breathe is clear of toxins,

I can stare out,

You can stare too,

Me and you?

Just

Me and you.

Eternity purrs on like a well-oiled engine.

This poem had several beautiful lines

"And I lie,

Beneath the stage of endless worlds,

Hoping they won’t stop dreaming for me.

The birds soar – oh how they steeply dive,

And rise,

And never know longing for open space,

Free to go anywhere, why, who and how." -----this was my part of your absorbing metaphysical poem. I loved the undertone of sensible sentimentality. Great piece!!
