Light

Light

A Poem by Dushyant Patni
"

Was blind, but now I see..

"

Impulsively discarded masks

Pieces of false skins

Are what trail behind

Tracing a winding path

Across the valleys of memory

Every story, every aspect

Every thought, idea and flaw

Once held dearer than life

Float away like leaves

Drifting on a summer breeze

A thousand suns and moons

And a dusting of stars

Wash away the shadows

And the sky breathes again

I wish I could say

It’s easy being this way

But I was lucky enough

To find myself

Wrapped up safe and warm

In the wings of an angel

Holding her in my arms
