You

You

A Poem by Dushyant Patni
"

Reflections?

"
I am not just a name on a screen

Or a voice that implores

I am not the strongest

But I have battled giants

I have spent an eternity

Rending and rebuilding myself

I am not a prince

Either of charms or of thieves

I am a demon

That hates his horns

I let the blood flow from my veins

To sate the craving barbs

I am scared of everything

Yet I wear my dread on my chest

I feel everything and nothing

And dont bury my tears when I cry

I may rise and soar

Or crash into the earth

No one can take away from me

What I know I am worth

I will sink so you can float

Crumble so you can endure

I will stand for you and by you

But I can not be you

Because all I ever wanted to be

Was me...

This was a mix of darkness and beauty all at the same time. It's one of those gems that I'm glad to have stumbled upon. I will definitely be checking out your other poems. Very good work. :)
