FogA Poem by Dushyant PatniTale of a winter's night. The fractured face of
the moon Of the sun’s empty husk Each probable and possible Coalescing into one Shadows of ghosts That never were Or ever will be Murmur their stories Disjointed and disconnected Down the cobweb strewn paths Dodging strands of memories All is lost in the gray fog Beads of mist Shimmer with the orange spark Of crooked street lamps Glinting dully On the darkness of the asphalt That winds along Into the haze All is lost in the gray fog Barred doors and dark windows Staggering along Immolating shards of souls for warmth Banging against the inevitability Of foolishness and folly Corpses dance along In their fleeting carnivals Full of empty sneers All is lost in the gray fog © 2014 Dushyant PatniAuthor's Note
