![]() WaitingA Poem by Dushyant Patni![]() Trying to see the light.![]() The shroud of many colours Draws heavier with each step taken Down this road strewn with razors and barbed wire Shrouded in a gloom; that can’t be chased away Waiting for something to point the way To reach the land where Stars sing songs of answered prayers An Eden for parched souls Waiting for something to shine Fluttering moths drawn to a flame Incinerated by the yearning Crushed by the embrace of stone Waiting for a frozen heart to beat To pump venom through these icy veins The colours distort in the haze Gazing into the abyss Waiting for a breeze to blow To take a breath of courage To wish for a little less turmoil For some order in the eye of the storm To find refuge from the siege Waiting for reprieve © 2013 Dushyant PatniReviews
