Here We Lay

Here We Lay

A Poem by Dupree

When the ice melts the sun shall rise

And drown the day with it's lies

The moon shines after the fire dies

Here we lay through these our days

Wasting the night's shade and the sun's rays

But here we will sit till the end of our days

Very impressive in the compact way it expresses the the hopelessness that comes from life's deceits and too many broken dreams. A lot of power in a small package. Also, like the rhyme in triplet form.

The sun shines every time you smile, and the rain falls as your tears do

I like the flow and the description in the poem. It was a short poem. I like the honest thoughts in the poem. A excellent poem.
