just a poem

You think you've got me?

But it's not that simple, you see

I'm not a piece of property

I only belong to me

You don't get to own this

Or know my bliss

Or steal a single kiss

You took your shot, but it was a miss

There is so much power carried behind this poem. I feel like it screamed independence. Only a strongly centred person could have the strength and confidence to actually say this. Short, and to the point. Perfect.

The last line really sums up the whole poem to me; that's a plus.
Also, its short, simple, and to the point. You can tell a whole story in the sum of 8 lines. Like Faye said, some people take many stanzas, verses, to achieve what you did in a such short amount {If that sentence made any sense}.
I loved the technique you used, only two different rhymes really being used.

Even though it is a short poem It was good. Some people do spend a lot of time to create a poem like this, but sometimes it is good to keep it short for the main points to be seen. I quite like this one. It's teasing.
