one missing compass point

one missing compass point

A Poem by Dupree
"

In memory of the wonderful man I had the great pleasure to call my grandfather.

"

the point is gone

so are you

so here i stand

wishing it weren't true

you were the one to guid me

and after all these years

you're no longer here

and so flow the tears

you were my north

strong and proud

and now that's gone

you fought so loud

to hasten death

but he still came

and life as i knew it

will never be the same

you were my north

but now i'm left with one

missing compass point

now that you're gone

This is good. Couple of minor spelling errors, but besides that, this is super awesome.

great tribute, well written

Very nicely written, a great tribute.

I like the ABCB format, which remains consistent up until the end, because 'gone' and 'one' don't rhyme, at least not with my accent. But at the end it doesn't really matter, as it's there to deliver meaning. I hope you shared this with your family as well as us.

I feel the same about my grandfather. You have expressed your sense of loss very well here. Beautifully written.

5 stanza's, ABCB poem. Nice flow, good rhyme. A very standard kind of poem in referance to the organization; but the comparison between soul and compass is wholly unique. Alas, that we must learn to navigate our lives without the wisdom of our ancestors to guide us. Good job*
