one missing compass point

one missing compass point

A Poem by Dupree
"

In memory of the wonderful man I had the great pleasure to call my grandfather.

"

the point is gone

so are you

so here i stand

wishing it weren't true

you were the one to guid me

and after all these years

you're no longer here

and so flow the tears

you were my north

strong and proud

and now that's gone

you fought so loud

to hasten death

but he still came

and life as i knew it

will never be the same

you were my north

but now i'm left with one

missing compass point

now that you're gone

I totally get this having lost all my compass points. From what I've read so far you're not boring at all!!!

Nicely written, descriptive, and...for me it's touching because I can relate a lot to the feelings in this poem. It's brilliant in my point of view...great job! I'm adding this to my favorites.

....random...I like the wording...it's very beautiful....But you really should proof read, "Guide" not guid... good job though....Nice piece here...But I think you should add more to it.....sort of say that there can be more than one north. Very nice though.. great job! Keep it up.

Very heartfelt. It's very difficult to lose someone so dear to us, and it's nice to always hold their memories close to our hearts.

A very good poem. We need people to show us the proper way. When we lose someone who was our teacher we become sad and weak for a time. Best honor for them is for us to stand tall and live well. A excellent poem.

That is a brilliant poem, I love the title too. The extended metaphor is very powerful! Well done.
