Devils and angels

Devils and angels

A Poem by Patrick Dunne

the devils in my head

encourage me to do wrong

the angels on the other hand

their words burst out in song

Don't do it man

you know it's bad

you know what you should do

this constant battle for my mind

each day it starts anew

i never know which voice is who

they squabble over everything

over my decisions

all i want is a day of peace

free from their opinions

the devils and angels have taken over my mind

so I can't tell what's right

I only get a rest from them

when I lay down to sleep at night
