In RibbonsA Poem by Duncan Brown
(For all the harlots
at King’s Cross)
When silver mirages
blue Paths of yellow
ribbons Wander at red shoes
You’re as promised
as scarlet Curving cups to
lips Of fine Chantilly
wine
An’ your soft
travelling voice Ripples beyond the
skylight Temptin’ angels to
abscond
As a subtle smile
invites Mysterious
attractions That delight an’ joy
of poets
As eyes reveal
origin of soul Born in heaven’s
grace Is all your
presence
Your incense of
wind and trees Transcend heaven to earth At the touch of a
garment
Your countenanced
desert robes Deep deep blues
shade Burning burning
yellow
As like a flower cast on
Crete’s Rained splashed on
feet Blessing white
stones
Unchain sight to
melody’s Sea kissed sand of surrender As a rock melts to
wax. © 2017 Duncan Brown |
