Crime Time

Crime Time

A Poem by Duncan Brown

It’s not a crime to be on time

For our very own extinction

It’s a deal we can all rely on

An extremely personal evolution

A surreal journey into eternity

So we shouldn’t worry about it

It’ll happen anyway without us

The upside can be on the inside

Transparency is always obvious

In a fashionably opaque manner.

As instructed I am returning the love! For me your last two lines sum this one up - not necessarily a bad thing. You can take from it your own meaning. It struck me immediately that this work lacks your usual verbal brilliance - I can only presume it is not by accident. I can see that the subject matter is quite different.
