Jimi Plays Guitar

Jimi Plays Guitar

A Poem by Duncan Brown

Crashing the frontiers of electric comfort
Rock’n’Roll outstripped each imagination

The six string fender really went cosmic

Sinister on the down side up backwards

A cacophony of lyrical crashing sound

Shattering every illusion filled harmony

A nightmare of brilliance and musicality

Unseen an unheard this side of limitation

Magician musician in terrifying symmetry

What a frighteningly wonderful experience

Immortality in a beauteous stranger playing

Divinity dwells in the sound of his humanity.

Listening now we are the victims of  .beauty

Unknowingly sharing the gifts of tragedy

Taken before the sound of loving generosity

Released our soles to dance in his eternity.
