We'll Say That We're Innocent

I know you’ve heard it before so many times,
That’s all fine and dandy but do I need to say this again?
If I could do it over I wouldn’t cause it’s the best that I’ve done,
This night may hurt like glass to the face or like a knife from a friend.
But if the world caves in don’t you wanna say you held it up,
Don’t you wanna say you gave it your last best shot?
Cause all these striped ties and leather jackets don’t say a word,
They won’t say you’re tough or even wise, just cast your lot!

There’s no more enemies when the world erupts,
There’s no more friends or foes just chickens with their heads cut off.
I know you’re frightened right now, as the world crashes down,
But darling, oh sweetheart, just drive as fast as you can and don’t ever stop.
I’ll give you a lesson in learning the right way to run,
Cause you can go like the masses or take the side roads out.
I need your patience. I need your attention as well,
This isn’t over, Yellowstone frozen over, this isn’t the time for doubt.

We’ve got the last of the gas and they’re running real fast,
Keep the engine warm, I’ll just be a second.
In and out real quick like a rat, nothing to be afraid of,
Cause we’re leading the pack, and they’ll follow as their beckoned.

performance presentation, the visual is an act of staging, a play on the
visual sense. concert wording, lyrical in particular that of inner rhymes,
in modern and stylish in an unconventional perspective that brings the
meaing of confrontation to life, this is a great poem, you have talent.
