Auburn

My crown jewel in the world of my current work, this poem is more recent and one of my favourites.

I stare into the sky at night
And gaze upon the stars
Pondering true love again,
I wonder how you are
You make me feel so special, love
Nobody can compare
I'll stay with you through darkest night
I'll be your teddy bear
Just to snuggle next to you
And stroke your auburn hair

And I wish I could tell you
Our storybook fantasy
It's a dream come true
Together eternally
Even after death
Your spirit will follow me
True love lasts forever
Just place your trust in me

I wonder if you realise
How much you really mean
A future without you in my life
Is a life I cannot see
And I want you to be by me
All day and every night
My desire is to protect you
From pain, fighting and fright
Just to keep you in my world
Your smile brings me light

And I wish I could tell you

Together eternally
