Fading My Glow

Fading My Glow

A Poem by Breezie Kae

Terrorist of my mind,

this force like a black hole

sucks me in.

Taking in, like my kin

are needles piercing soul -

all are blind.

Yet dark eyes, familiar

to the tattered up flesh -

I deny.

Never look at the sky

for fear it may reject -

peculiar.

Peculiar is this mask

and peculiar is this

aura - so

fade my protective glow,

evaporate and fizz;

and don’t ask,

for all this, terrorist

supernova, explode -

never ask.

For it’s too hard of task

and you may never know

what it is.

I liked the imagery and feel of the piece. It was pretty interesting to say the least. I can kind of relate because I'm going through rough times and struggles, but I like the poem. It is deep and it's good. Thanks for sharing. :)

I really liked this part:
fade my protective glow,
evaporate and fizz;
and don’t ask,

You have some really cool imagery going here, and the rhyme is nice and messy. I feel like you touch on a lot of different internal struggles, some that I can weave my own mental voice into, even though it probably means something completely different to you. But you leave it open, which allows almost anyone to connect. It makes me want to read more and pick apart what's going on to cause such a chaotic poem. Great write.
