A Poem by Breezie Kae

Do you know what life is for?
I write overwritten words for the same meaning:
Do you know what life is for?

Life is for living past sunset,
life is for never knowing what's best.
Life is for cliches, and it's not meant to waste;
it seems so at least, but yet

It's hard to dispel the wounds inside me,
like tiny little aneurysms all over my insides -
all I do is wait for some healing.

It's like the knot in my thumb
from when I smashed it in the door;
when I press it the wrong way
I'm still filled with pain.

It's like all the scars
I have to tell of my bad times;
the times are over, but they're with me forever.

Yet I still live my life, learning what it's for;
some of the hard times are hard to ignore.
but still, I will try for the sake of living,
and I hope I will pick up some meaning.

This one is great, it tells how life is so...confusing sometimes, we don't know what most of the stuff that happens means, why does it hurt when our thumb gets shut in the door, why does it almost kill us when someone we love leaves. The things that happen that don't seem like big deals (shutting your thumb in a door) we never even think about but why did we have to endure that specific pain, maybe to prepare us for something...but what none of us know what our specific meaning is but it seems as if everything that happens leads us to it, if not then why does it happen?

I thought this poem was nice because it did show how life is confusing. Everyone knows that life is learned through hardships and other things that are included in life. I know that it is hard to realize, but you do. Thanks for sharing. :)

I didn't know what life was till I held my first child. Work and other things must be done to pay rent and eat. But we are the caretakers of the next generation. I feel this generation had gain many problems from the last one. Life should be celebrated and being kind. And hope we don't get hurt along the way. A outstanding poem. You made me think.

Ultimate question, "Do you know what life is for?" demands the "ultimate answer". Questions are indispensable, as the answers provide us with knowledge, however, questions about life don't carry answers. It's best we don't ask in order to stay sane :)

I like the 3rd stanza. I think we go through life battered and bruised with a smile on our faces and I don't think we ever mend; the good and the bad are part of life.

Nicely done :)
