To Happiness

To happiness, well-explored

in all my words in search of you.

All of this has been too deep

and maybe it is true;

that skimming the surface is never enough,

but underwater will drown you.

Maybe happiness is just to live,

but living is just a state of mind.

Ignore the chaos, move on without it,

but it's hard to find that line

between ignoring the truth and losing that chance

and wasting all of your time.

Looking for happiness in love and death,

it never results how you please.

Watch and ignore the tree trunk falling,

it brings you down to your knees.

Yet death never made you, and love only broke you,

it only made you see

that life is not about happiness,

life is only about living.

Life is about learning to play

along with its chaotic rhythm.

You ask good questions and you're right in saying, "Life is about learning to play
along with its chaotic rhythm."
However, I feel that the poem lacks chronological order and you seem to mix up the verb tenses a lot as in, "Maybe happiness 'is' just to live,
but living 'was' just a state of mind" - is and was in this case.

All in all good effort in my opinion.

Life is one of the hardest lessons anyone has to learn and it's not an easy one! I don't know if we ever get the answers to the questions that we ask, but the point is we ask them in the beginning so it's not a futile existence! Again you express maturity and questioning in your poetry that a lot of older practised poets yearn for in their work.
