EncoreA Poem by Breezie Kae
Have you ever been smashed down to the ground?
Hope's only for the hopeless, I've found. But I'm sorry, it appears to be I missed ya, damn near fell down tripping up a twister. I'd perform an encore, but I gave myself a blister, just another reason to write up a list of "I'm sorry"s, excuses and remedies, but you still don't have a thing on me. I got blue high heels and pink sunglasses, another melody that's gonna kick your asses. Another blurry night that I'll soon regret, long-felt feelings that I won't forget. I'd perform an encore before I play to begin, I didn't know this open door was a sin, but I'm sorry, your excuse is my remedy, and you still don't have a thing on me. You got love, you got nothing that I don't, you got a smooth song, it's nothing. Have you ever been shot out to the sky, hard to feel down when you're so damn high. But it happens, I burst my own bubble, seems that the sky has only caused me trouble. I call it a score, they call it a fumble, better go down and get the director a double, but that's all you've got, and that's all you'll get, I got an encore, so don't you fret. I got a second chance when I should be dead, don't let the phoenix complex get to your head. I got my charcoal, pen and ink, and my poetry, these words are only what they mean to me. They call it a score, I call it inspiration, I couldn't live my life purely on vibrations. Now that's all I've got, but there's more to get, there's another encore, so don't you fret. You got love, you got nothing that I don't, you got a smooth song, it's nothing. You got love, inspired, you got poetry, on fire. You got love, you got nothing. Trip a twister and now it's gone, shouldn't have let it sit for so long. And now inspiration's theft, it's all that you've got left. You got love, you got nothing that I don't, you got a smooth song, it's nothing. © 2010 Breezie Kae |
