Autre Soi

Autre Soi

A Poem by Breezie Kae

Lucy graces me
with her presence for a while,
as this alter-ego gives me some chance
to laugh and smile and be careless;
to have some future.

Anabelle graces me
with none such as pleasant;
she blesses me with hopeless,
as I'm begging and pleading
for Lucy back.

Anabelle says to sit in the dark,
but Lucy says the weather's nice.

Wow, I really like this. The contrast of the two personalities within is so stark in the succinctness of your words. It almost reads of someone bipolar or highly depressed trying to fight their way out. Very nicely done.
