I Won't Compete

I Won't Compete

A Poem by Breezie Kae

I'm not going to compete;
I'm not going to compete with you.
You deserve it just as much,
and a thing or two will be true:

That this is the thing that goes wrong,
this is the thing that will stop me.
It's not as simple as I wish it was,
not that it ever could be.

Because the way he looks makes it quite apparent,
you're the only one he looks that way for.
I'm not going to compete, I know how it is,
and it's something I don't want anymore.

But oh, how I wish it was as easy
as all of these words I wrote.
It twists at me, yet again,
it's time to give up my hope.
