Happy Enough

Happy Enough

A Poem by Breezie Kae

I know a boy, cool as can be.

His lips call to me, like taste of taffy.

Oh can’t you see, that I’m talking ‘bout you.

You like this girl, don’t want to hurt her.

I understand, but it’s no murder.

Oh, don’t you know, don’t want to talk about her.

Because my faith is strong and so are your lies,

can’t get too far back behind your eyes.

I just want to go for a ride,

and fall happy enough, like la-da da-da.

La da da-da, la-da da-da,

La da da-da, la-da da-da,

La da da-da,

And then we’ll be happy enough like la-da da-da.

I want you, boy, to be a part of

something so sweet, not talking ‘bout love.

I wonder if you know what I’m saying.

You don’t want a girl, and it’s justified,

but I’m not like the rest, you won’t make me cry.

Don’t want no more than make your heart beat faster.

Well I know that it’s not the norm,

but this is what we’re both looking for.

I don’t think we’ll need something more,

cause we’ll be happy enough, like la-da da-da.

La da da-da, la-da da-da,

La da da-da, la-da da-da,

La da da-da,

And then we’ll be happy enough like la-da da-da.
