Seize Tomorrow

Seize Tomorrow

A Poem by Breezie Kae

Carpe diem.
That's what the poem said;
Seize the day,
for we could die the next.

But I realize that I'm living by
"seize the day tomorrow."
I realize that I'm living by
the things that give me sorrow.

Like procrastination and silence,
and civil eloquence.
Like shyness and inferiority,
and all of the rest.

But it's not just carpe diem,
it's also carpe noctem.
I have a leg up on that,
but not healthily.

But to health, it's not worth it
to die anyway,
and it's for the things that bring me joy
before I whither away.

So let's not waste this youth,
I want to be with you.
I want to feel that young love thing
before the moment I lose.

I want to be with you.

Dear Miss Kae,

First of all, thank you for sending the read request. Secondly, this poem has intrigued me since you do use a foreign language which can be a risky move. But I do like the general message in this poem. With all honesty, I would work on rhyming and rhythm as these are two natural elements in a poem that creates flow. Flow helps the reader get through and convict the message you want to convict. After having wrote 300 poems, I'm only now becoming a 'natural' at this, so it can take practice. Coming back to the message, I like the thought of seizing the day. But you must also live wisely. Remember, a poem is a combination of heart and mind... or heart and soul. It cannot just be emotionally wrote. It cannot be wrote simply by taking a writing class in college. Poetry is a unique sense of art that combines your heart with your mind. Again, thank you for the reading request. 9/10

Sincerely,
S. W. Scaggs
