Only MondayA Poem by Breezie KaeI’m thinking about all the things that I couldn’t say. It makes me want to kick myself for letting you get away. I thought that I could handle this, I thought that I had changed. But it’s not the end of the world, it’s only Monday. I got confidence, got the world at my fingertips, yeah I’m so proud, to be breathing this air, seeing through these eyes and hearing these sounds. But it’s funny how you make my confidence shrivel away. But I know it’s not the end, it’s only Monday. You better shape up now, you better shape up fast, the person you’ll be will soon be cast. Another audition, make this one count, instead of waiting till it’s over and out. I’m thinking about how I’m gonna write this second verse. These lines that you won’t read, they’re all that I rehearse. But when I let these moments pass, it’s those that hurt. Tomorrow is Tuesday, gotta get through Monday first. And you’ve been living your life over and out. It’s about time desire persevered over doubt. You know you’ve got to be someone that’s what it’s all about. Don’t let this one lose another Monday. Another Monday, yeah it’s just Monday, then it’s a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, everyday. Friday to Saturday, and then it’s Sunday, then it’s everyday that you’re missing. Yeah it’s everyday that you’re missing. © 2010 Breezie Kae |
