Ante Up

Ante Up

A Poem by Breezie Kae

Yes, it has to be this way,
because nothing is ever simple.
Nothing is ever the way I want it to be
but it will work out some way,
or I'll just forget.

But it's this waiting that's killing me
and my yearning to be in control.
I held the cards before,
but I guess you can say I folded.
But I never, ever wanted to give up,
I just didn't know how much to bet.

It's just this fear;
lose everything.
The unrequited is my home,
there's nothing more I know.

Just this damn fear.
This damn fear of falling
in love with a phantom.
This damn fear of never falling again.
This damn fear of losing.

Great write, fear gets us all! But can't live afraid of falling. It's better to run like wild and fall as much as you can. That's how we learn and thrive. Great job.80
