Meant to BeA Poem by Breezie KaeWritten during between freshman year.
Can you feel the fire? Can you feel it rise? Can you feel the light? Can you see it, blinding? Can you hear the music? Can you hear the life? Can you feel the time tick Feel it dying in your hands? Tick tock, and I’m ready to go Is there even flow Can you even know When they cover up the silent words Bang bang, and they’re ready to feed Feed on the oils Of everything we see Can we lose what was meant to be? Can we be what we lost? Can we be what we feel? Burn burn, and there’s one less prayer Like tears love dissolves into air. Let’s start a f*****g revolution We can try to find our new solution Grain by grain, we’re all going insane We’re gonna end it all before we’ve begun But maybe we can start a revolution We can start over evolution Sea by sea, we’ve lost our meant-to-be But maybe we can burn up with the sun Rain rain, and I’m ready to bleed Can you feel faith Can you feel rage As they shoot down the protest songs Click click, and they’re ready to kill Lock you up And make you ill Can you grasp what you have let go? Can you hear the unsaid? Can faded colors glow? Fade fade, and a poet dies He died before he told his lies Let’s start a f*****g revolution We can try to find our new solution Grain by grain, we’re all going insane We’re gonna end it all before we’ve begun But maybe we can start a revolution We can start over evolution Sea by sea, we’ve lost our meant-to-be But maybe we can burn up with the sun (Revolution No solution Grand exclusion Evolution Revolution No solution Grand exclusion Evolution) (repeat over) (Can you feel the fire Can you feel it rising Can you feel the light Can you see it blinding)x2 Let’s start a f*****g revolution We can try to find our new solution Grain by grain, we’re all going insane We’re gonna end it all before we’ve begun But maybe we can start a revolution We can start over evolution Sea by sea, we’ve lost our meant-to-be But maybe we can burn up with the sun x5
