Maniac

Maniac

A Poem by Breezie Kae
"

Written during freshman year.

"

Say, what’s the solution,
can you even come to a conclusion?

Hope’s got you choked up so you can’t feel,
you’d do anything just to feel real.

Say, say what you see,
when reality is so make-believe.

Mania’s got a death grip on me,
it’s holding so tight that I can’t breathe.

And then it goes down,
hold yourself high, but don’t make a sound.

Bittersweet chemicals in my brain,
swinging around till you feel insane.

It’s not over now,
hold your breath and scream

So, stick to your mind,
as ecstatic minions terrorize.

As my subconscious takes over me,
realize that I’m my own enemy.

So, forget the truth,
you can’t break away until your break loose.

All my thoughts are always the same,
an endless cycle, passing as sane

No such thing as sane,
as the cycle turns, searching for faith.

Another day spent without your love,
but at least it’s kept me looking up

It’s not over now,
hold your breath and scream.

It’s not over now,
hold your breath and scream.

It’s not over,

scream!

It’s not over,

break away!

It’s not over,

let it burn now!
Just let it burn!

Let it burn now!
Just let it burn!

It’s not over...

I'm really impressed to see so much talent in someone as young as you are. I love the ending, and "You can't break away until your break loose" is probably my favorite line. Keep writing. We need you.
