Forgetting Bliss

Forgetting Bliss

A Poem by Breezie Kae
"

Written during freshman year.

"

Let us dance.

Let us dance, forgetting

that the world only watches

the beautiful.

And let us feel for ourselves;

the serene chaos

and serenading feet.

Let the world forget who we are

and sing solo,

with only the company of our words.

Take a step,

and let us stand alone,

with definitions of beauty

that never held us down.

Let the light in,

stop living in seclusion,

thinking only of what wasn’t

and what can’t.

And feel, knowing

that feelings will never be forgotten.

And feel that only bliss

could match what is.

I like the anonymous voice of this poem. especially like these lines

And let us feel for ourselves

The serene chaos

And serenading feet.

this adds sound to the poem, makes the world seem active although this seems to be an introspective poem.
