Hoping to PleaseA Poem by Breezie KaeWritten during freshman year.I was hoping to be hopeful, living life on a narrow edge, swaying with opinions but keeping balance. To be happy and free, and the person I always wanted to be. I never thought I’d be the one sitting off to the side and keeping her mouth shut, hoping to please. I never thought I’d hide from the disgusting stares and filthy looks. I never thought I’d care. But you see, my thoughts, my mind, even my lies, they come from honesty. For I have felt more; felt pain, felt love, felt the wild side of the fire. And maybe that’s all that I will ever want. © 2010 Breezie Kae |
