Chapter 1A Chapter by XStigmaChapter 1 of the Bloodsworn Chronicles.
Chapter 1: I am so overjoyed I can hardly contain myself. But we mustn’t get hasty now. I tend to the fire by putting twigs one by one onto the fire until it gets about a foot tall. Then I begin to forage little dry pieces of wood and bark until I'm content with a small fire to keep me warm. It has appeared that I've ended up within a densely packed evergreen forest at the start of fall. While out foraging I managed to fix myself a backpack out of vines and leaves. It isn't the most secure thing in the world but at least I can carry more things. A berry bush of unknown fruit. The berries themselves are the size of strawberries but have a smooth outer skin to them. Taking a cautious bite the sweet taste of something I can only describe as a blueberry with a very light honey taste fills my famished mouth. “Well I guess we wait till I die from poisonous berries.”
I mumble under my own voice.I would be taking some swigs of water but after being submerged and saturated in it I really haven't gotten the thirst for it at all. Gladly after being active for a good while fidgeting around I can feel my arms and legs. My leather clothing is left to dry on a heated rock I had laid in front of the fire. I decide to clean up the cave a bit. It's not too deep. Only 15 feet into the rock face. “It's getting dark, I'd say I have only 2 hours of daylight left before night comes.” Snapping a branch from a near by tree I fix myself a weak spear from some flint, vine, and heat tempering the wood. Within the time it's taken me to craft myself the thing I had hardly realized that the entire forest had gone dark.I decide to bunker down for the night and ponder about what had happened today. “Just why am I here? Who am I? I seem to have prior experience about how the world works and how to survive but no clue about my past, and I still don't know where I am. I guess I’ll just have to survive till tomorrow, Hopefully something comes back.” As the wood cracks from the heat of the fire the sounds of the forest slowly lull me to a very tiresome slumber. © 2016 XStigmaAuthor's Note
