A Terrible Thing

A Terrible Thing

A Poem by Drusilla

It is us

On the other side of the glass

They say

we are strange

I say

they don’t see what we do

A terrible thing called Love

We watch

They chase

With grubby fingers

greedy children

And like the rainbow

The closer they get

The further it fades

so hot the fire for possession

The rainbow will never stay

So hot the possession

The fire

it burns it away
