SIGHTLESS I SEE

SIGHTLESS I SEE

A Poem by Druscilla Morgan

Sightless I see the sad parody

That which I have become

A betrayal to my own truth

A w***e to my very existence

Sold out,  slapped around

Vicious and vicarious

Me! Me! F*****g Me!!

Give to ME

Want ME

Forgive ME

Why ME?

And who am I anyway?

Who was I ever?

Did I have a name by which to accuse?

B***h! S**t! Vacuous waste of space!

Why can't you be like someone else?

Like them?

They have names and suits

They drive Maseratis

Over poor men's souls

Something to aspire down to!

I have become my pain

My identity lies in silent screams

Daily inertia, tattered dreams

Dark pits that have no name

So call me what you want

It doesn't matter anymore

Maybe it never did!

B***h! Liar!

Angel! W***e!

This piece is very moving and powerful.

"I have become my pain
My identity lies in silent screams
Daily inertia, tattered dreams
Dark pits that have no name"

It is increasingly amazing how so many go through life thinking they have the audacity to title, name, categorize, label, and stereotype those whose faults are their very own. They're scared of the power that comes from rising above the title, becoming the pain they inflict is a far harder path than that of conformity, and a much more honorable one.

This poem is amazingly written, i can feel the emotion behind this piece. [the sign of a good poet.]

This is harsh, but very open and to the point. I like what you have done here. A brilliant look at perception.

This piece makes me feel angry and powerful at the same time. Powerful - knowing I've been filled to the top and refuse to overfill. You picked great words to show so much emotion. Well done
