STRIPPED OF FLESH

STRIPPED OF FLESH

A Poem by Druscilla Morgan

Stripped of flesh, you gorge yourself

On dissonance and yesterday’s news

Sliced and diced, circumvented

You blister with disease

Eyes wired shut and heart dissected

Empty spaces of in-between

Gorged delicacy of discontent

With nothing to appease

Wide eyed with fear you stand immobile

A victim of a fate unseen

Incarcerated by your senses

You can no longer bleed
