Left and Right, Lost in TranslationA Story by drtismPerspective interaction between Right and Left Brained people
Right and Left Minds, "Lost in Translation"
I could feel her eyes singeing a hole in the side of my head as I irrationally continued my unreasonable conversation about things not at all related to teeth or flossing. Politely waiting with an angst to begin her scripted checkout procedure, my receptionist was palpably getting frustrated, with a smile on her face as I yarned on about some silly story that related to the soul that I had been connecting with for the last half hour. Laughing, connecting and honoring the person in the moment is completely foreign to the left mind. The left minded fires up when all of that fluffy esoteric banter between two right minded peeps has quite finished! It is frustrating when the left mind must witness the rules shown such little respect. Noticing details and giving deference to the system over the intent is the world of the left mind. This provides a safety and security that calms the chatter of the ego that so exhausts those who are under its control. "Lefties", in order to cope with the creative types, employ all manner of cajoling, guilt throwing, lobbying, and point by point arguing in attempts to get those crazy right minders to wake up and follow their well thought out agenda(s). While I rarely find much thinking done by the left mind, but more ego control or attempts to muffle the chatter in their head. To counter the frequent battles that the cajoling left wage in their need to get me to "see the light", I've found it's effective to know more than they do and to be more fluent in their language than they will ever be. The right mind integrates while the left mind separates, the higher view always trumps the view in the valley. © 2015 drtism |
