Title taken from Nicholas Ray's Rebel Without a Cause. The mind is a sea of madness. We're all drowning in truth and lies; love and hate, illusions and self.

Love for the sake of love chases dreams but wakes up a bedroom ghost.

When the clouds parted I was born a tear drop. I fell for you and fell apart.

Disappearing in cigarette smoke. In love with you, I'm still waiting to come alive.

We're only shadows, someone to shame and someone to blame we're all strange. 

Following the sun I sometimes feel like disappearing,

Some how still alive. Most days it would be better to just stay asleep.

Unwritten poems and unsaid words can't make up for the letters we never sent.

True love aches the heart like postcards of places you've never seen.

Waves in my mind are crashing over my will, breaking apart at least we tried.

Being myself is hard enough, I'm weak even though we're under the same stars.

Dreams come and go, rain beats against my window. Nightmare becomes daily when you're in love.

My head under the pillow can't drown the world, all we do is assist in one another's demise.

Feeling like a ghost when surrounded by people

Gradually we fall in love but fall out of love with the world, 

Typically falling in and out of love, we fall in love with the world again.

Clinging to love I fell off a bridge and back into my own life.

We all long for the one who will awaken us to our purpose, to love, to life itself. Time after tiem we get disappointed that the promise is never quite delivered, never quite realized. We struggle to attain the unattainable. meanwhile, in our search, we do become part of something larger, and it confuses the hell out of us, but we keep trying.
