Has Anyone Seen My World?

Has Anyone Seen My World?

A Poem by Sweet & Tender Hooligan
"

'If you break a mirror when your 7 does that mean you will forever have bad luck?' Written August, 2007.

"
At seven I met my future wife and kid, kissing them good day.
Mirrors hanging from the wall make them walk away. Like dust in the light,
it means nothing to me except pain and fear.

At seven I lost the use of my arms and legs.
It holds no meaning except
unbearable anger and tears to carry me.

After eight had passed there were seven
green bottles hanging on the wall.

At seven all my dreams died.
They hold no responsibility,
they push me away for the world is too confused to listen.

Alteration fluid;
after eights,
drowning hearts
and empty bottles.

At seven I would have killed myself if I'd have been so lucky.

Sweet & Tender Hooligan
Inspired by "I Lost A World" by Emily Dickinson.

'I lost a world the other day.
Has anybody found?
You'll know it by the row of stars
Around its forehead bound.

A rich man might not notice it;
Yet to my frugal eye
Of more esteem than ducats.
Oh, find it, Sir, for me!'

Thanks Kristy she's one of my favourite female poets
I love a fair amount of female poetry. It often get's
unfairly overlooked. But there are many great female poets.
I'm very happy that you enjoy my poetry. :D

Oh wow...Very very good. I love the lines:

Alteration fluid;
after eights,
drowning hearts
and empty bottles.

They flowed very well... I love Emily Dickinson, by the way!!! It's rare to find a guy who feels the same way :)
