Little Flies & Narcoleptic Flowers

Little Flies & Narcoleptic Flowers

A Poem by Sweet & Tender Hooligan
"

Based upon my little fly like life and inspired by the saint of little flies Mouchette (which in english means little fly) the main charachter of Robert Bresson's masterpiece 'Mouchette'.

"
Once on my own in a nightmare, I clung on and prayed
Every little step brought down the shadows of my dreams.
The sleeping more awake but the dead die before the living,
The dead are our security blankets. Angels are shamelessly human,
Wiping the mouths of their abusers and the tears of their enemies.
Drowning in quicksand no matter how much the surface disappears,
Nothing can spoil the beauty of unselfishness.

I want the little rain clouds to fade away,
Once the rain goes and rainbows face this way.
When light and hope returns,
Already more rain starts rising.

A lifetime of pain in my chest
A lifetime of punishment,
I just haven’t paid enough.
Little flies always forgive and return,
There’s no blame it’s natural to be afraid.

I don’t want to ruin your dreams,
I don’t want the sky to cry on you.
I want to take away your pain
So we never have to cry alone.

Kissing your lips would be like
Kissing a mirror,
A mirror that possesses the rest of me.

Truth and fears, hopes and regrets,
We’ve shared more than several lifetimes of lifetime friends.
Yet I wish I could be who you want me to be
And I wish I could be there when you need me.

I don’t want to ruin anyone else's dreams,
I don’t want to ruin the sky for you.
I want the little rain clouds to fade away,
When the rain goes and rainbows face the other way.
If only we could stop the worlds tears so we never have to cry alone.

Sweet & Tender Hooligan
The preview image is the infamous final scene
where Mouchette rolls down a hill and falls into
a body of water and drowns. Which can also be seen
years later in Bernado Bertolucci's The Dreamers.
