Oblivion

Oblivion

A Poem by Drow
"

Death is a funny thing, isn`t it?

"

Dripping softly,
echoing forever,
light crimson staining,
slipping into never

Dying you say,
so many lay,
where I now stand,
don't I have another day?

Falling,
Bracing for the crash,
memories come flooding,
reminiscing, how brash.

Slowly closing,
my eyes to blink,
Preparing,
no more to think.

Muscles fall lax,
body slams down,
onto the granite,
locked in a last frown

Sudden knockout,
diver's lung,
no more,
the fat lady has sung.

Dead,
left to vultures,
forced,
into many cultures.

Hot fire,
burning life,
gripping tightly,
to the double-edged knife.

Great work with the rhyme scheme, and it most definitely follows a rhythm. Your verses are also well presented and thought out, following their little themes and fitting int the grand scheme of things around the poem. Great work, technically.

Also thanks for the dedication, Drow. I appreciate it. : )
