Silent ScreamsA Poem by Mak(ayla:)
Snuggled under my covers
I fight the urge to sleep. For several nights I have tossed and turned, and would wake like a zombie. I must rest, But I know what's waiting for me. I just lay there, Staring at my clock The bright red numbers burn my eyes, In the darkness of my room. My eyes are growing heavy, And the start to tease. They laugh and say, "Look, Makayla. It's getting awfully late." As I fall under their spell, I hear the tainted laughter. Screams start to shrill in my ears, And I jolt up in bed, Mouth open wide, But now sound coming out, And sweat streaming down my face © 2013 Mak(ayla:)Reviews
