You were my best friend

I thought we would make it all the way to the end

But you’re different now

And I’m just left thinking “wow”

You hate me for things I didn’t do

Yet none of them even involved you

We’ve been through so much together

And it hurts to know it didn’t last forever

I miss who you were

But never again will I see her

I’ll always remember our past

Even though it didn’t last

I want that to be the girl I met

And she shall be the one I’ll never forget

I don’t want to remember the things you did to me now

Because that’ll just make me frown

So I’ll always remember the girl I once knew

She was my best friend and I loved her too.

I'm going to have to be critical on this poem for a few reasons. First off I wouldn't ever write a poem that was named after the person it was for. It can turn into a slander/libel case. Always be careful of that. You repeat a couple of lines that were already captured at the very beginning of the poem. I would shorten it down alittle bit, or try to explain in a few words of how this person managed to change. Writing shouldn't be about the beginning and ending. It's the journey that manages to captivate the reader. It's a good poem though, but I wanted to offer some constructive feedback.
