Silent LoveA Poem by De'AndreWho would have thought silence could be so strongIn silence I speak, in the shadows I lay For my moment in time each day I just pray I stand up to speak but nothing I say I feel like I’m broken in more than one way
I sit quietly, but shout out to all I’m in quite a bind with my back against the wall I’ve picked up the phone; have yet to make a call I wonder how long it will be before I fall
I want just a little more than what I have now It’s cold like the winter; the snow I must plow A speech I must give, I’m still stuck on just how I have not the courage to even take a bow
Everyday I sit quiet holding on to how I feel I’ve shuffled all the cards, but can’t seem to deal My heart says to speak, my mind says to seal My emotions, I think, won’t ever reveal
Love has taken its course; it’s just not on mine Over the time that I wait, I look for a sign Variety of choices, only one seems so fine Everyday I hope that our paths would align © 2010 De'AndreAuthor's Note
