A Race Aganist TimeA Poem by De'AndreAll that starts must come to an end Knowing this truth we try to pretend That there is no end, just a distance to travel And all that it holds for us to unravel A man or a women can see beyond all But our vision is blocked because our arrogance is so tall We don't take the time to want to believe We only hold on to what we concieve We don't realize our life is put on the spot Not wanting change the pace of the clock Moving too slow, letting everything pass on by Leaving this world with nothing as we die We have to take hold of all that is ours Until we're above the height of the towers So, put on your shoes and don't tie the laces Take off like the wind and its various paces See with your mind, think with your eyes Search up your future but don't wait for replies Distant or close, there is an upcoming end You know the real truth so don't try to pretend Grasp hold of the wind and don't let go Unravel your future but don't take it slow
